Velociraptor

Size of a turkey

Velociraptor, from the Late Cretaceous period in Central Asia, is a small, feathered theropod known for its speed and intelligence. Contrary to some portrayals in popular culture, Velociraptor was about the size of a turkey, reaching lengths of approximately 6 feet (1.8 meters).

It featured a distinctive sickle-shaped retractable claw on each hind foot, likely used for hunting and grappling with prey.

Velociraptor is believed to have been a social dinosaur, possibly hunting in packs to take down larger prey. Its feathers, supported by fossil evidence, indicate a closer relationship to modern birds. This dinosaur's combination of size, agility, and intelligence makes it a fascinating subject of study and a well-known figure in the dinosaur world.
